Dear part time father

I don’t need your money
I need your love
I don’t need all the fancy gadgets
I need your guidance

I grew up too soon
Taking care of my lol brothers
As they looked to me for guidance
I never got.

I became a father at the age of 14
Just a lost boy searching for answers
To questions that will never be answered

As I fight back the tears. Everything just hits harder.
But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger

I have overcome a lot in my short life
I’m still fighting my demons from depression to suicidal thoughts and drug addiction.

Pain is real, it starts at home
It starts from an early age
It’s not something you were born with.
